Here at the Downright Gabbler we offer you the chance to explore our history and culture, in a fun way, using the best of Scottish food and drink. We’re a family business using our skills in hospitality and storytelling to entertain our guests. We offer several unique events from Afternoon Teas to lavish dinners. We want to share our love of history and food, as well as the drinks that made Scotland famous.
You can book our events online below, or you can call us on 01463 782800 or contact us. For parties of 8 or more you can have exclusive use choosing any one of our existing events, or we can tailor the food and storytelling just for you… and we love a challenge!
We have vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options and can usually accommodate most dietary requirements, but require 24 hours notice for this please.

Happy August! It’s already gearing up to be a very busy month so make sure to book as far in advance as possible if you’re planning a visit. We’ve a great selection of dinners – Highland Banquet, North Coast 500 in 5 Objects, Living the Dram and A Write Good Night. Plus a Super Scots Sunday Lunch thrown in mid month, with only a few seats left.
